This website is dedicated to the concept of qualitative easing. Qualitative easing is a central bank policy that reduces the average quality of assets backing a central bank´s liabilites.
Qualitative easing has started to receive wide press as a consequence of the financial crisis and the responses of the Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank even though the main focus unwarrantly is on quantitative easing.
On this site a provide a description of what qualitative easing really is. Moreover, I provide an overview of several scholarly article on the qualitative easing of the FED and the ECB. I hope to encourage other to investigate theoretically and empirically qualitative easing.
